Preparing For

A Virtual Sound Bath

Here are some tips to prepare yourself and your space for the best experience possible.

Technical Setup

1

Use headphones

To have the best virtual experience, it is recommended to use headphones to hear the full range of sound frequencies.

🎧 Tip: Any headphones work. Over-ear is ideal, but earbuds are great too. Bluetooth is fine.

2

Enable Original Sound in Zoom

Change Zoom's audio settings to Enable Original Sound to preserve the full richness of the audio.

Go to Settings → Audio → Advanced, then check “Show in-meeting option to Enable Original Sound.” Once in the session, click Enable Original Sound in the top-left corner of your screen.

3

Keep yourself muted

Please keep yourself muted to ensure that background noise does not pull others out of the experience.

4

Silence notifications

Set your phone and computer to Do Not Disturb. Close extra tabs and apps. Give yourself full permission to be unreachable for this time.

Creating Your Space

Set the scene

Create a serene environment for you to feel relaxed and enjoy the sound bath. Make your physical environment as cozy as possible — dim the lights, light some candles, incense, or use a diffuser, and add comforting elements like cushions or blankets. A folded cloth or eye mask to cover your eyes can help you drop in more deeply.

Prepare for reflection

Have a journal, notebook, or art supplies nearby for reflection after the sound bath. Give yourself permission to reflect in creative ways. Maybe you are drawn to writing words in a journal or using colored pens, pencils, or watercolors to document your experience. All ways of reflecting and processing are welcome!

Remove distractions

Give yourself the gift of presence. Put your phone and computer on Do Not Disturb and keep your mic muted to avoid background noise interruptions.

What to Expect

1

There is no right or wrong way

There is no wrong way to experience a sound bath. You don't need to do anything, achieve anything, or feel a particular way. Simply listen and relax — your experience is exactly right for you.

2

Every experience is different

You might experience deep relaxation, emotional releases, vivid visualizations, or simply drift into a light sleep. All of these are natural and welcome responses to the sound.

3

Physical sensations are normal

As the sound vibrations interact with your body, you may notice tingling, warmth, or a sense of coolness. These are all normal physical responses — simply observe them with curiosity.

4

Take your time coming back

After the session, allow yourself a slow return to awareness. Take a few gentle breaths, move your body softly, and give yourself time before jumping back into the day. Journaling or creative reflection can be a beautiful way to integrate what came up for you.

Come as you are.

The sound will do the rest.
